USA Swimming Observation

The 2025 Madison All-City Championship has been approved for USA Swimming Observation.

What is an Observed meet?

An observed meet is a meet conducted under other than USA Swimming rules (i.e. All-City League rules), but has USA Swimming certified officials that observe swims for conformance with USA Swimming technical rules. The meet has permission from the local swimming committee (LSC) to enter the observed swims in the USA Swimming SWIMS time database.

How do I get my times from All-City 2025 into the USA Swimming SWIMS database?

In order to request observation of your swims for the All-City meet, you must elect to do so with the Administrative Referee. Complete the request form (linked on this page) and make payment of the $20 administrative fee per athlete. The athlete must be a member of USA Swimming in good standing at the time of the All-City 2025 meet. Pending successful completion of the swim under USA Swimming Technical rules the times will be entered into the USA Swimming SWIMS database. Please allow 2-4 weeks after the conclusion of the meet for processing. Requests for observation are due August 5, 2025 at 6:00 pm CDT.

I am not a club swimmer. Does this affect me or change how the meet is run?

No. The All-City 2025 Swim Meet will run like any other All-City meet. Athletes will not notice any differences nor will the meet be conducted differently because of observation. This is purely an administrative opportunity for those that wish to use their times from All-City in club swimming.

Questions?

If you have questions on whether your swimmer should request observation or what it could mean for their situation, it is recommended you talk to your USA Swimming Club coach. For logistical questions, contact [email protected].
